Becoming A New Patient Is Easy
Our practice is devoted to providing you and your family with quality, safe, caring and comprehensive dental care. We know that most people are anxious about going to the dentist and especially when switching dentists. Believe us you are not alone! Our team strives to make your first and following visits as easy, comfortable and stress-free as possible. Our new patient exams usually take about 1 hour for patients over the age of 21. For younger new patients our comprehensive examination is done at the time of their first cleaning.
What To Expect At Your First Visit
Please arrive approximately 15-20 minutes prior to your first scheduled appointment to fill out our pretreatment paperwork and medical history information. This process can be expedited by printing our new patient forms below or by calling our office and requesting a mailed new patient information packet. This paperwork may be brought to our office at the time of your visit, or click here to mail it to us.

X-Rays
If you have not been to a dentist within the past year and had a recent set of x-rays, it is our policy to update your x-rays at your first visit to our office. If you do have recent x-rays from another dentist we ask that you bring them if possible with you to your first appointment. Please note that our philosophy is that every patient is different and that x-rays are taken based individual need and not based on what the insurance company will pay. That being said, we will always make every effort to work with your insurance company to maximize your benefits to their fullest extent.
Exam
Our examinations include a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth, gums, bite and smile and may also include dental impressions and photographs. Oral cancer screenings as well as full head and neck examinations are also performed and are included as part of our examination. A treatment plan will then be developed and discussed either at the end of the appointment or in cases where significant work is required at a later scheduled appointment.
Cleanings
We know that your schedules can be busy and hectic, so we will always TRY to have your first dental cleaning coincide with your new patient examination. In some cases however this is not possible as each individual is different and may require additional time or appointments for a thorough dental cleaning. Please note that children and patients younger than 21 will usually have their new patient comprehensive evaluation at the same time as there dental cleanings.
